Corus British Triathletes score hat-trick at World Championships in Lausanne

For Corus, sponsors of the Corus British Triathlon Team, the weekend could hardly have gone better. Yesterday, in what can be described as a hat-trick, no less than three British Triathletes raced to victory to claim all three men's gold medals at the World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Tim Don (28) from London came first in the senior men's race, Corus Ambassador Will Clarke (21) from Cambridge came first in the under-23 and Alistair Brownlee (18) from Leeds won junior title.

With the finish in sight, Don had a clear lead and permitted himself a victory dance as he approached the line, and Clarke managed a cartwheel and somersault as he crossed the line. Don said, "My goal is to defend my world title next year. I cannot believe I am saying that."

Philippe Varin, Corus' CEO commented, "As you know, Corus' sponsorship of British Triathlon is a first for both of us, though this weekend's victory at the World Championships is a win-win for us all. We are absolutely delighted at the performance of the Corus British Triathlon team, particularly, as the three gold medallists, includes our very own ambassador, Will Clarke. We are now looking forward to continued success at the European Championships in Copenhagen next June."

The Lausanne World Championships saw over 1,000 triathletes participate and 35,000 spectators at the Swiss town.
