Almost 1,000 children took part in the Corus Kids of Steel event at Scunthorpe making it the largest event of the 2008 national series.
Corus Kids of Steel is a series of triathlon events for kids between the ages of 8 – 13. The events are about having fun, having a go and trying your best. Every child received a certificate, medal and goody bag in recognition of their achievement. Triathlon is a fun sport where you get to swim, bike and run - in that order and without stopping in between. Bikes and helmets are provided so every child can take part. Corus Kids of Steel is growing in popularity. In 2007 over 5,000 children took part in the Corus Kids of Steel triathlon events, but in 2008, the number of entrants was closer to 10,000. Check back here in 2009 for details of next year's events. |
